About

PV at Green GardensPatrick Vennebush is the author of Math Jokes 4 Mathy Folks, a compilation of math jokes he’s been collecting since college, and he knows what you’re thinking — are there really enough jokes about math to fill a book? Indeed, the book contains over 400 jokes and is 128 pages long! Most people don’t think that math or mathematicians can be funny… and those people should read this book.

The Math Jokes 4 Mathy Folks blog is an online extension to Math Jokes 4 Mathy Folks. The blog contains jokes submitted by readers, new jokes discovered by the author, details about speaking appearances and workshops, and other random bits of information that might be interesting to the strange folks who like math jokes.

When not solving problems, telling jokes, or playing ultimate, Vennebush spends his time as the Chief Learning Officer for the Math Learning Center. He has a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland, as well as a Bachelor of Arts and an Alumni Achievement Award from Penn State. He is a former chair of the MATHCOUNTS Question Writing Committee, a 2012 National Champion in Ultimate Frisbee, and a Guinness World Record Holder.

Patrick lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife Nadine, who laughs at 50% of his jokes; his sons Alex and Eli, who appreciate about 80% of his humor and say he is the funniest man they know; and his lovable American Staffordshire Terrier Indy, who has never been very good with percents.
